Fee per session is $190, Medicare Rebate is $89.65 – Gap fee being $100.35

What types of issues of concern can a GP refer me for, that are covered by Medicare?

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Post-traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Panic Disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Eating Disorders
  • Prolonged Grief Disorder
  • Adjustment Disorder

How many sessions can I get under my Mental Health Care Plan?

Your GP will initially provide you with a Mental Health Care Plan for 6 visits and after 6 visits, or 6 months have elapsed, that plan will be reviewed by your GP and you may be eligible for an additional 4 visits (Up to 10 sessions in a calendar year). This is currently extended by an additional 10 sessions to Dec 2022.

What if I cannot afford the gap fee?

You may wish to access another service. Your GP will be able to advise you of any funded services available. Alternatively, you might like to space sessions out to fortnightly or monthly to budget for your gap fee. Isa Psychology has some funded sessions available of which may be offered on an individual basis, however this funding is very limited.
